Samsung’s CES keynote was graced by a very special guest. No, I’m not talking about a celebrity or tech wiz. Instead, the Korean giant brought out on stage a tiny rolling robot dubbed Ballie. This BB8-style robot whizzed onto the stage, greeted everyone, and then showed off its true skill — personal companionship. Samsung has currently only shown off this cute little robot on stage at its keynote, with zero information on Ballie’s price and availability....

In FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, players will come across various Squad Building Challenges where you need to form a team of superstars with certain attributes. While you can complete some of the SBCs with Bronze tier players, others require higher rarities with better Overall ratings. Finding the cheapest high-rated players from the Transfer Market can make a massive difference while completing some SBC puzzles. Players with an 88 overall can fill in the gaps in SBCs that require 85+ overall squads....

The Department of English at RICE University will be adding The Elder Scrolls to their course offerings with a class that focuses on fantasy games and Skyrim. The goals of the course are to offer an introduction to fantasy as a driving force in gamer culture. The course will compare written selections of Old Norse sagas as they play different quests in Bethesda’s RPG. From the course description, it doesn’t look like RICE students will simply be practicing their Dragon Shouts and breezing towards an easy A....

Independent publisher Modus Games has teamed up two developers to publish a new title. Cris Tales comes from the minds of developers new to the scene. Dreams Incorporated and SYCK have teamed up to bring gamers a tribute to the JRPG genre. With a spectacular art style paying tribute to games like Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger, developers may be hoping to draw in die-hard JRPG fans to their title....

It amazes me day in, day out what modders do with various games. I think my first introduction to that was the Borderlands 2 Reborn mod, bringing me into what’s possible. Since then, I’ve seen a lot of different mods like Stalker’s various mods and the expansions being made for Fallout 4. Every time I think they can’t be more ambitious, they manage to do just that. One such case is a group of Dark Souls modders, now working towards creating Dark Souls: Nightfall, a fan sequel to the original game....

Days Gone Game director Jeff Ross has tweeted a response to this week’s announcement of Ghost of Tsushima’s success, and he doesn’t sound all that happy about it. During its CES 2022 press conference earlier this week, Sony Interactive Entertainment proudly announced that Sucker Punch’s open world action-adventure Ghost of Tsushima had sold over 8 million units since launching in July 2020. Introducing new first-party IP is always a high-risk move for a platform holder, so when it pays off so spectacularly, it’s a real cause for celebration....

Bluepoint Games is well known in the industry for its knowledge when it comes to remastering, and it even raised the bar with that process when it dropped a majestic remaster of Shadow of the Colossus for PS4. So, with a lot of games out there which could be remade, there’s a big expectation upon what these guys could be making next. Technical director Peter Dalton has vaguely but interestingly discussed what they’re going to do after Shadow of the Colossus during a panel at GDC 2019....

Originality is a rare trait for the FPS genre these days, but People Can Fly’s Bulletstorm had plenty of that to go around back when it originally launched in 2011. The crassness of its characters made its relatively brief campaign at times hilarious and other times a little annoying, but its emphasis on fluid and stylish gameplay made each combat scenario exciting. Now we’re here 6 years later with a remastered version called the Full Clip Edition, and I’m happy to say that the game has aged gracefully....

Get these must-have games before the Wii U eShop closes! It might not be the most popular console, but Nintendo’s Wii U console had some fantastic games. This is easily made evident with so much of its library being ported to Switch, even if they do include some new features and improvements. Despite an earlier leak, it appears that Cadence of Hyrule – Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda will be releasing in June. Cadence of Hyrule is a crossover game between Crypt of the NecroDancer and The Legend of Zelda series. Crypt of the NecroDancer is a rhythm-based action-adventure game. Cadence of Hyrule has the same art style and gameplay as Crypt of the NecroDancer, though this time the setting is Hyrule....

Apparently, an update patch was released for the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to address its many launch issues. However, it sounds like it did nothing to alleviate the problems and issues the game is currently having for PC owners of the game. Director of development for Treyarch (@pcdev) tweeted the following message: “BlackOps3 PC update is Live! You may need to restart Steam if it doesn’t update right away“....
