Supercell’s Clash of Clans generated $727 million in revenue this past year, according to popular analytics firm Sensor Tower. This makes SuperCell one of the top five mobile app publishers. The game owes its revenue boost to battle passes, which gained popularity with popular battle-royale games like PUBG Mobile and Fortnite. “Supercell has found success with the battle pass mechanic because it was able to implement it in a way that complemented the Clash of Clans experience....

Fans of the Disney’s Club Penguin franchise were elated when the shuttered Disney game was resurrected as Club Penguin Rewritten-a fan-made recreation of the popular original. This week, though, their digital dreams were dashed once again when three people were reported arrested in connection with the site’s shuttering for allegedly distributing copyrighted material. Inspired by the original Lovecraft publication and the emblematic pen and paper RPG by Chaosium, Call of Cthulhu is getting an official video game adaptation developed by Cyanide Studios. Call of Cthulhu is an RPG investigation title packed with psychological horror and stealth mechanics. Call of Cthulhu will take players to Darkwater Island, and just like its name suggests, this will be a grim and disturbing place. It looks like Activision will indeed be releasing a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops on November 13th. The sixth and final season for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone will be called The Final Showdown. In it, players will see the conclusion to the storyline between Adler and Stitch, along with the Black Ops Cold War Zombies storyline before things transition over to Vanguard. The Final Showdown is launching on October 7, ahead of Vanguard’s release in November. Mason and Fuze will be coming in the season six battle as new operators when The Final Showdown arrives....

Activision and game studio Infinity Ward have finally released a one-minute teaser trailer announcing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A sequel for the highly popular Modern Warfare sub-franchise has long been rumored, and it has now been confirmed on the official Call of Duty Twitter account with the teaser. The trailer doesn’t show any official gameplay and instead uses drone-captured footage showing a dock. However, voice-overs and graffiti of returning fan favorites are shown throughout the docks....
