Very few redeeming qualities in Microsoft’s latest exclusive. When Crackdown released back in 2007 there weren’t very many games like it. An open world game that gave players incredible freedom of movement, Crackdown carved out a nice niche for itself in a gaming landscape that was still playing catch-up with Rockstar and the Grand Theft Auto series. While the industry at large very well may still be chasing Rockstar’s tail when it comes to open world games, we haven’t seen a new Crackdown in quite some time and open world games have moved forward by leaps and bounds....

“No!” The disgruntled Apex Legends player shouts, after watching their newly crafted item disappear back into the Replicator, unwilling to open again unless another item was crafted. If you’re an avid Apex Legends player, it’s probably happened to you more than once. It turns out the root cause was a glitch that caused the Replicator to close on its own if the crafting player had a full inventory. Of course, a crafted item doesn’t go directly into one’s inventory, so the glitch in the first place was pretty odd, but in the backend code, the two things were clearly connected....

During the latest Nintendo Direct, it was announced a Nintendo Switch version of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is releasing on July 10. In that occasion, we weren’t informed about the details of the new edition, just a gameplay trailer, and a date. Activision has now announced that a new studio is handling this version, which is Toys For Bob. The dev team is known for its work in the past on the Skylanders series, which has interestingly included Crash Bandicoot at some point in the past....

As I feel I’ve run through in several pieces of coverage here, Crysis is a series that has lived near and dear to my heart. After replaying the series earlier this year, I quickly remembered how much I loved both their stories and their action sequences, with Prophet being among one of my favorite characters in video games (don’t worry, Psycho’s up there too). CDPR sets the record straight for their business plans Cyberpunk 2077 was previously confirmed by CD Projekt Red to be void of microtransactions, but the truth is a bit more complicated. Yes, the Cyberpunk 2077 experience awaiting us in November will not have a trace of microtransactions. Dancing On Ice scraps skate-off after Ekin-Su Culculoglu‘s “victory” through the process. This new development limits panelists from influencing the save list. Love Island’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Brendyn Hatfield competed in a skate-off against retired footballer John Fashanu and his partner Alexandra Schauman. Skate-off allowed Dancing on Ice judges, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo, and Oti Mabuse to pick their favorite celebrity dancers, thereby eliminating a duo. Unfortunately, it was the end of the road for Fashanu who was booted off the competition....

Dark Souls II will launch in North America on March 11, 2014 and in Europe three days later, on March 14, 2014. Namco Bandai made the announcement regarding the game’s launch during their Tokyo Game Show Event. The launch dates are for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game with the PC version expected to arrive shortly later. The delay will hopefully lead to a port of better quality then that of Dark Souls which was truly lacking....

Horror fans, you are going to want to get ready for this! Indie horror game, DARQ, developed by the team at Unfold Games, is coming to Steam on August 15, 2019. Borderlands, the hilariously ultra-violent FPS from Gearbox, is getting a movie adaptation. Actually, Lionsgate announced the film way back in 2015. But now, we officially have a director attached. Eli Roth will helm the production. The news came a bit prematurely. Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford tweeted out the news yesterday before quickly deleting it. This implies a more official announcement was scheduled before Pitchford broke the news. Now, Deadline reports that it’s true....

Call of Duty:Ghosts has been introducing new maps and modes since multiplayer was fully revealed just a short while ago, and one of those was announced at Gamescom. Infinity Ward introduced another brand new multiplayer mode called Blitz Mode, alongside a map of a completely-blown-apart urban setting called Chasm. Blitz is like a spin-off to Capture the Flag, but instead of having to “capture a flag” from the enemy team, players are obliged to fight to get into small capture points and as a result they score points by entering the opposing team’s zone....

Infinity Ward has released the patch notes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3, and there are changes that all players will need to be aware of. The patch is reportedly 13.6GB in size. The game’s developer unveiled the Season 3 patch notes ahead of its official release on April 8. There is plenty to wrap your head around, including changes to Warzone, weapon fixes, audio bug solutions, and more....

Season One of Vanguard is here. Update 1.08 is now available for Call of Duty: Vanguard, and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This is the Season One update for Vanguard, adding all-new maps and modes to the game. For Warzone players, this update also marks the end of Verdansk and the beginning of Caldera, the new battle royale map going forward.
