Despite being targeted for a February release, Cyberpunk 2077’s next update, patch 1.2, has been delayed following a recent ransomware attack on developer CD Projekt Red. Although a specific new date has not been given, it is now slated to launch sometime next month. In a string of new tweets on Tuesday morning, the developer attributed the patch’s delay to both “the recent cyber attack on the studio’s IT infrastructure and extensive scope of the update....

Hotfix 1.2.8 for the Borderlands 3 Redux Mod has been released today. The hotfix brings many changes to the mod, including new items, buffs, better Legacy Hunts, vaulted items, and quality of life changes that make it feel better to play. This hotfix adds three new items for players to hunt down and introduces a loot spawn pattern to the Mainframe boss fight. In addition, many weapons have had their damage buffed so that players feel ready to take on the Legacy Hunts once more....

Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has revealed that Eli Roth will be directing a movie based on Borderlands. The movie project was disclosed last year as Lionsgate and Arad Productions had acquired rights for its development and distribution. “I’m very excited to welcome Eli Roth as Director of the Borderlands movie in development with Lionsgate and Arad Productions,” said Pitchford on Twitter, before removing its message perhaps due to the reveal happening too early....

Bungie, the studio behind the popular Destiny and Halo games, has filed a new trademark application for an undisclosed project known only as “Matter.” The application was created on Sept. 28 and filed to the European Union Intellectual Property Office. It was filed under the computer game software and online entertainment services categories, which still leaves the project’s identity open to interpretation. This project could be the studio’s first new Intellectual Property since the original Destiny was released in 2014....

In a win for cheat seller AimJunkies.com, a judge has sided with it as part of its legal battle with Destiny 2 publisher Bungie. Bungie had accused the site of copyright and trademark infringement but, while the site was guilty of selling cheats for Destiny 2 (which it has since stopped doing), AimJunkies argued that there are no laws that prohibit cheating and that its cheat software wasn’t a copy of any of Bungie’s work....

Activision has revealed the Call of Duty: Mobile BR (Battle Royale) World Invitational prize pool. The prize pool is worth $100,000.
