Days Gone, a 2019 PS4 exclusive game didn’t get the love it needed when it launched but after a few months of release, the game made itself a cult following. Now there’s talk about Days Gone 2, but the talk isn’t good news. The game was a jack-of-all-trades, you could do anything you wanted to in a massive open world, post-apocalyptic zombie game. The story was just amazing, to this day Days Gone can be seen as one of the games that had the best stories.
So what went bad? The sales were good, the reception even though delayed was great. So what? The thing was that even though the game lets you do everything, but this “everything” was not done to perfection. The game was then passed on as an “okay” game.

An “okay” game seems like not a favorite thing for Sony, as they recently passed on a potential pitch for Days Gone 2. This news went viral real quick and had a lot of fans enraged. People behind the pitch had told us that the sequel would have so many more features compared to the last installment, including an online connected world, co-op gameplay functionality, and so on.

But Sony had passed on this game and that was that. But was it? Jeff Ross, who was the director of the first game, took to Twitter and pushed people to sign a petition to make Sony reconsider their decision. He did say he didn’t expect much out of this, but the reaction of the fans had him overwhelmed.
The petition became one of the most popular petitions in no time. He was so happy and encouraged people to keep on pushing forward to get it over the 25000 mark, which could hopefully get Sony’s attention.
Now let’s answer the big question, is Sony going to change its decision over this petition? Honestly, the chances are very low. They won’t be bothered about a petition and aren’t going to divert their resources and personnel to a game that didn’t bring them amazing results the first time around.

But we’ll never know, there are a ton of things that could happen. It could get so popular that another publisher could take over somehow, maybe Sony themselves would change their minds, maybe Days Gone 2 will be just another dream that may never come true. Whatever it may be, it’s great to see a ton of people that loved the first game who aren’t giving up hope for a future sequel.
