Former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth has announced his upcoming retirement. In an interview with the Las Vegas Review, Roth said “I’m throwing in the shoes…I’m retiring.” Roth will be playing his final five shows at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The first show kicks off this New Year’s Eve.

Roth ended the phone call by saying, “I’ve given you all I’ve got to give. It’s been an amazing, great run, no regrets, nothing to say about anybody. I’ll miss you all. Stay frosty.”
David Lee Roth was the lead singer for Van Halen in three separate stints, 1974-1985, 1996, and finally from 2006-2020. The band retired in 2020 following the passing of Eddie Van Halen. Roth was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen in 2007. Aside from his work with Van Halen, David Lee Roth has had a prolific solo career. He has also written a New York Times best-seller, Crazy from the Heat. For those that want a little more of the man, he had run a podcast called The Roth Show since 2012, which is available on YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes. However, the last episode aired exactly two years ago in 2019.
Roth is a legend in his own lifetime. These last five shows are sure to be something spectacular. I wish the best of luck to anyone trying to get tickets.
