After narrowing from Early 2016 to the month of April, Dark Souls 3 now has a firm release date of April 12th. This news comes via a brand new trailer, showing off a ton of new gameplay from the highly anticipated game.
Titled “Darkness has Spread”, the new Dark Souls 3 trailer reveals a lot of finer detail on stuff we’ve seen before, but there’s still a ton of new info here. We get a great look at the dark and apocalyptic world of the game, as well as many of the enemies that the player will have to contend with. We previously described a lot of this in our E3 preview, but without images or video it was tough to get the idea across. Now you can see a lot of that stuff for yourself, including the black creature that will seemingly play a major role in the story of Dark Souls 3.
Bandai Namco has also revealed that there would be a Day One Edition as well as various Special Editions of the game. Though details on these has been sparse so far, only coming from prior leaks. Check out the preorder page for more details when they become available.
Dark Souls 3 will hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 12th.
