Free Comic Book Day is rapidly approaching, and Dark Horse Comics is teasing what to expect. The publisher announced that this year’s offerings will include a new Avatar: The Last Airbender story. Plus, a new story set in the world of Star Wars. With all these goodies, May 6th can’t come fast enough!

Stories Not To Be Missed

Unfortunately, Dark Horse Comics is keeping the details of these free stories close to the chest. However, they are offering some quick synopses to get fans excited (thanks CBR). The Avatar: The Last Airbender is reuniting readers with their favorite air nomad, Aang. This Free Comic Book Day offering comes from writer Amy Chu with art by Kelly and Nichole Matthews.

According to Dark Horse Comics, the story will see Aang and his friends encountering a village destroyed by the Fire Nation. The only survivor of the attack is a young child named Luumi. This child refuses to open for anyone except an Earth Kingdom native named Toph.

Meanwhile, the Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures story comes from writer Daniel Jose Older. It features art from Harvey Tolibao. It focuses on the increasingly volatile conflict between the Jedi Order and the dangerous marauders known as Nihil. Caught in the middle of the conflict is a shuttle full of younglings. According to Dark Horse Comics it is a lost tale set within the fall of Starlight.

What Else Is Dark Horse Comics Offering?

Elsewhere, Dark Horse Comics is offering some other interesting titles for Free Comic Book Day. A new story set in the world of the Umbrella Academy will be available on May 6th. The free story, titled “Safe”, follows Hargreeves and Abhijit. The duo embarks on a dangerous inter-dimensional journey where they come face to face with a cosmic horror. However, the horror will have repercussions for the entire family.

Along with the Umbrella Academy, Dark Horse is offering a free tale set in the world of The Witcher. The story, entitled “Frog Kiss” follows Geralt as he works to uncover why the women in Novigrad are suddenly turning into frogs.
