The staff of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s Oshi no Ko manga announced that the anime will debut in 2023. Along with this announcement, the staff also shared a second visual for the series. With this debut, the anime will have a 90-minute first episode.
Currently, Daisuke Hiramaki (Hayate the Combat Butler) and Chao Nekotmi are directing the series at studio Doga Kobo (Monthly Girl’s Nozaki-kun, Plastic Memories). Currently, the story for Oshi no Ko is described as:
“The manga’s story begins with Goro, a doctor who coincidentally handles the childbirth of his favorite dol Ai Hoshino. However, just before Ai gives birth, Goro dies from an accident but is reborn as one of Ai’s children, Aquamarine. But, as Goro learns, his memories are fully intact as he is reborn.
With this new life, Aqua must navigate the dirty secrets of the entertainment industry. To make matters more complicated, he must now keep his family safe and solve the mystery behind their alleged stalker.”
Coming to the Oshi no Ko anime’s debut, there will be a live broadcast program on December 11th. This broadcast will feature the main voice actress Rei Takahashi and other cast members, as well as new information. The Oshi no Ko anime will also get an exhibition during the event for Akasaka’s Kaguya-sama: Love is War in Akihabara, Tokyo (October 29th and 30th).
Oshi no Ko’s Anime: Widely Circulating and Widely Loved
Akasaka and Yokoyari launched the Oshi no Ko manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in April 2020. Shueisha’s Manga Plus is currently releasing the Oshi no Ko manga in English. Currently, the title is licensed and distributed by Yen Press. At this time, there are 3 million copies of the Oshi no Ko manga in circulation.
Currently, there is no other information revolving around the upcoming 2023 Oshi no Ko anime. However, more details are expected to be released during the live broadcast. It is also unknown where the series will be streamed in regard to a Western release.
