Warner Bros. Japan announced that the DanMachi season 4B of the anime season (based on the light novel series) will begin a new arc. This comes from after the episode count for 4B was rumored through a number of leaks on social media. The arc will continue to follow Fujino Omori and Suzuhito Yasuda’s DanMachi (also known as Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV). At the same time, a new promo, trailer, and visuals were released with the news. The anime will premiere on January 5th with returning staff and crew.
The original DanMachi light novels are published in Japan by SB Creative under their GA Bunko imprint. The English version of the novel is also available through Yen Press. Crunchyroll describes the story as:
“Based on the light novel of the same name written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, Is It Wong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is set in the world of Orario. Here, adventurers band together to look for treasures in an underground labyrinth known as Dungeon. However, for Bell Cranel, fame and riches are secondary to what he wants to find the most: girls. He soon finds out, that anything can happen in Dungeon, and winds up being the damsel in distress instead!”
DanMachi 4B: A Followup to a Long Run
The anime’s first season premiered in April 2015 with 13 episodes. Following that, the second season premiered in July 2019 with 12 episodes. The anime franchise also includes two OVAs, a film, and a spinoff television series. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime, with it streaming on HDIVE and Crunchyroll. However, Crunchyroll removed the anime on March 31st, 2022. Currently, the spinoff can also be purchased through Yen Press.
DanMachi (Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon) season 4A can currently be streamed on HDIVE. The season is not currently available on Crunchyroll. There is no update if the season will be added back to the platform.
