Daniel Radcliffe, who famously played Harry Potter in the movie franchise, isn’t interested in stepping back into the role – at least not yet in the case of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The rumors of him returning have been surfacing since the release of Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special on HBO MAX.

Daniel Radcliffe Won’t Return as Harry Potter For a While

Eager fans might have to wait a while before anything could come into play. The 32-year-old star from London spoke with The New York Times on his new movie The Lost City, which stars Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum.

When asked about returning as Harry Potter for a Cursed Child adaptation, Daniel Radcliffe said:

Some of the “guys” that Radcliffe is referring to are the main cast from the original Star Wars trilogy who reprised their roles decades later. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are just a few that come to mind.

Daniel Radcliffe starred in the main role of Harry Potter for 10 years, dating from 2001 to 2011. Since then, he has taken up multiple indies and smaller roles where he isn’t taking center stage. However, he will play as parody artist “Weird Al” Yankovic in the upcoming biographical comedy Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. The film will debut on The Roku Channel sometime in 2022 or 2023.
