Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop, dice-based roleplaying game. Magic: the Gathering is a tabletop dueling card game. As both are owned by Wizards of the Coast and have high fantasy settings, it is no wonder they make for such a nice collaboration. The new campaign book titled Mythic Odysseys of Theros is available today!

This campaign is set in the Magic: the Gathering world of Theros. Players can align themselves with one of Theros’ 15 gods and carve an epic tale of heroism. Players can choose new races unique to the world of Theros. There are also two new subclasses to choose from, making this book easily applicable across any Dungeons and Dragons game. For the Bard class, there is the new College of Eloquence. And for the Paladin class, there is the new Oath of Heroism.

The book is available at your local game stores or larger retailers that sell gaming books. You can also purchase the book digitally on D&D Beyond, Fantasy Grounds, and Roll20. Wizards of the Coast had an extra special surprise for fans that took advantage of pre-ordering. The first 20 orders received a poster map of Theros as well as 50% off a digital download of the book.

This campaign book has two cover designs. The alternative cover is designed by Kevin Tong for exclusive selling at game stores. Dungeons and Dragons have a history of beautiful designs with their campaign books, and this will go lovely on any gamer’s shelf. While this book was announced early this year, just last month Dungeons and Dragons held a three-day event announcing another new campaign book, Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden.

This is not the first time D&D and Magic: the Gathering has combined. Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica had a highly successful launch in late 2018. With the COVID-19 pandemic keeping us all shut away from interacting with the world at large, some fantasy escapism is just what we need!
