The development process of the Cyberpunk-style thriller game Replaced, which was expected to be released soon, has been postponed to 2023. Developer Belarus-based Sad Cat Studios announced that Replaced was delayed, citing the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Replaced, which we first saw during last year’s Xbox E3 showcase, aroused curiosity with its Cyberpunk style. The game was launched for Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It is also expected to come to Game Pass as well.

Replaced is being developed as a 2.5D science fiction retro-futuristic game featuring a character named R.E.A.C.H – which represents an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its will. According to the Xbox E3 2021 showcase reveal, players will explore a Cyberpunk-style world, push the limits in intense combat, and realize what it’s like to be alive.

Coatsink, the publisher of Replaced, said that they postponed the release date of the game. According to Coatsink’s statement, this decision was made to prioritize the physical and mental health of employees. Developer Sad Cat Studios’ statement on Twitter briefly explains:

Although it is not known when Replaced will be released, it is certain that it will not arrive until 2023. The game is confirmed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass for Console, and Windows PC.

We are continuing to work hard to match the quality you’ve come to expect from the trailer, but are prioritizing both the physical and mental health of the developers by not forcing the original deadlines that have been unexpectedly impacted.”
