Cyberpunk 2077 has today launched its September 6 update, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. Today’s update is really, really small, to the point that the game version is still considered version 1.3. Still, the way that the official “notes” describe this change, this change seems to be an urgent one that was causing serious issues on systems with older processors. As such, this change is exclusive to PC systems, and should only be considered there. If you’re still interested, then we’ve got you covered. Here’s what’s new with Cyberpunk 2077’s September 6 update!

Cyberpunk 2077 September 6 Update Patch Notes

The official Twitter post for the update reads as follows:

Like said, this is the only thing that’s been changed with today’s update. For those curious, AVX in laymen’s terms stands for Advanced Vector Extensions, a process that improves the speed at which your CPU can process data. If you have a CPU that was made during or after 2011, chances are it came with AVX as a core function. Today’s update only applies to those with processors from before 2011, which provided a specific set of instructions in its place. For Cyberpunk 2077, it seems this was causing the game to crash for these users, and thus needed an imminent fix.

While today’s update exists for a very specific group of people, CD Projekt Red has been on top of taking care of Cyberpunk 2077’s gargantuan number of bugs. Today may not be exciting, but surely the next update and subsequent ones will provide something more interesting. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. For more information regarding this patch, check the official CD Projekt Red Twitter page.
