Cyberpunk 2077 hype has been building more and more over the last few weeks, with new gameplay reveals and the total shift to a completely first-person experience. Now, CD Projekt Red has revealed via Twitter that Cyberpunk 2077 will indeed have multiplayer.

2/2 The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action.

Just in case you can’t read the tweets:

As of right now, we don’t really have any info on what Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer will entail. In fact, judging by the link provided and the delayed release date, it sounds like development for the feature isn’t even really in full swing yet. That being said, if the DLC is going to be free, I’m not too bummed about waiting; especially since it’ll give me the chance to explore and discover the world on my own for a bit before I potentially have friends jump in with me to cause all kind of high-tech chaos.

What do you want out of Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer? Will it be a Player-Versus-Player competitive scene ala Destiny, with character progression carrying into its competitive scene? Or will it be a more cooperative style, making use of CD Projekt Red‘s phenomenal storytelling to offer a Borderlands-esque experience where progression is shared and difficulty is scaled? Honestly, I wouldn’t mind a blend of the two, but for now, all we can do is speculate. Well, that, and pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 for all those sweet, sweet early adoptor goodies (that collector’s edition statue is sexy as all hell). Cyberpunk 2077 drops April of 2020.
