The CW has just released an exciting new trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Gotham Knights, which will focus on the effect on Gotham City after the death of Batman. Batwoman writers Natalie Abrams, Chad Fiveash, and James Stoteraux, wrote the script for the series, which is not included in the same universe as CW’s The Flash and Superman & Lois, though that’s always subject to change. Gotham Knights received a pilot order in early February, and it will officially be released on the network sometime in 2023.
The Plot of the Gotham Knights Trailer
The CW trailer begins by showing us Batman’s rebellious adopted son Turner Hayes, played by Oscar Morgan, who is having a casual party with friends when he suddenly gets a knock on the door from the recently cast Misha Collins as District Attorney Harvey Dent. Harvey then informs Turner that his father is dead, then asks him if he knew his father was The Caped Crusader. Turner must form an unlikely alliance with a band of misfits framed for the murder of Batman, who also happen to be the children of some of Batman’s most intimidating enemies. Without The Batman to protect Gotham, the city plummets into chaos as the Gotham Knights fight to clear their names while simultaneously being the most wanted criminals in the city.
In addition to Hayes and Collins, Anna Lore will star as Stephanie Brown, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela Dent, Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley, Rahart Adams as Brody, Fallon Smythe as Harper Row, and Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Row.
Although Gotham Knights is still without an official release date, the series is surely one to be excited about with its star-studded cast and an official trailer showcasing what’s to come. The series is produced by Warner Brothers and Berlanti Productions, who also worked on the rest of the CW superhero shows, and is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.
Gotham Knights will be released sometime in 2023. Be sure to check out the official trailer down below!
