Cuphead’s long-awaited The Delicious Last Course DLC has finally received a release date at The Game Awards show. The trailer by Studio MDHR revealed that the Cuphead DLC release date would officially be June 30, 2022. Players will be able to play through new brand new levels and encounter new bosses in D.L.C. island, as well as make use of the brand new playable character named Ms. Chalice!
Ms. Chalice was initially revealed as a playable character back when the DLC was first announced and was once known as The Legendary Chalice, an NPC encountered in the Mausoleum levels that served as a sort of “damsel in distress.” Players will be able to unlock her upon downloading the DLC and must help a new character Chef Saltbaker to uncover the mystery of Legendary Chalice’s secret quest and unlock new powers along the way.
The Delicious Last Course was first announced around June 2018 with a 2019 release window as an update to the existing game following its release on the Switch but has since experienced several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was pushed back to 2020 before again being pushed to 2021. It seems that this will be the final release if all things work out. Cuphead DLC as seen from The Game Awards will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and GOG.
“As with so many of our fellow developers, creating games during these unique times has brought with it a host of challenges, and we’re so grateful to our Cuphead community for their patience and excitement as we’ve pushed to make The Delicious Last Course a true high watermark of the studio’s art, design, and animation.”
