The excellent Crypt of the NecroDancer will be making its console debut on PS4 and PS Vita on February 2nd according to a new post on the PlayStation Blog. Heather Wilson, Producer and Community Manage for Brace Yourself Games made the announcement, saying “We are very excited to bring Crypt of the NecroDancer, the award winning and critically acclaimed roguelike rhythm game to the PlayStation family!”

The game is an interesting mixture of genres, combining classic dungeon crawling and roguelike mechanics with those of a rhythm game to form something wholly new and unique. “Crypt of the NecroDancer turns up the volume on typical 2D dungeon crawling action by adding rhythm based movement and combat. You control main character, Cadence, as she explores each zone, picking up gear and defeating musically motivated monsters. Then unlock multiple new characters who offer different challenging modes of play.

On PS4 and PS Vita, the game will feature cross-buy functionality, so you can purchase either one and have the game on both systems. As an extra bonus, the team has added a new exclusive soundtrack created by Jake “Virt” Kaufman, the composer for Shovel Knight,a long with an additional surprise that they haven’t revealed just yet.
