Critical Role has released another update regarding their animated series, The Legend of Vox Machina. This weekly Dungeons and Dragons Livestream launched a highly successful Kickstarter campaign, reaching over $11 Million to fund a full animated series based upon events in the campaign. Now, the $10 million stretch goal reward has come, and the cast sent out some updates on the series.

As part of an incentive to reach $10 million, it was joked by the Critical Role cast that as a stretch reward Travis Willingham would go through a haunted house event. Willingham is known for his roles as the barbarian Grog in campaign one and the half-orc Fjord in campaign two. The good-natured but easily frightened cast member agreed. But when the $10 million stretch goal was reached, fans got their wish to see Willingham face his fears as he was filmed on his trip alone. He went through Fear’s Gate in Simi Valley, CA. Some cast members dressed up as clowns and scary creatures got a chance to scare him during his venture. The entire video is ten minutes long and can be watched on their YouTube channel or down below:

Critical Role also announced more updates for The Legend of Vox Machina series. Given their Kickstarter far surpassing what they had originally hoped for, the Vox Machina characters are going through some redesign after the initial art and animated preview. The designs are currently in progress and not revealed in their final look yet. The first and second drafts of scripts are under review for each episode. It is promised that the entire Critical Role cast is going through the scripts to ensure the characters are brought to life the same way they were in the games.

The cast of Critical Role has always had an excellent relationship with their fans, and so far they have continued to bring out Kickstarter rewards regularly and given updates on the progress of the animated series to keep the community in the loop.
