Crimson Desert is an upcoming single-player title from developers Pearl Abyss. Slated for a 2021 Winter release, it combines narrative-driven single-player and multiplayer elements. Set on the continent of Pywel, it is home to many cultures, people, and religions. Many factions continue to fight for control of the lands in which they live. As you progress, your choices will shape the lives of everyone you come across.
Crimson Desert‘s Hero
The hero of Crimson Desert is known as Macduff. He is a mercenary who has seemingly fallen down on his luck. Hoping to reclaim the lands, he joins a company of fellows. Together, they will work to overcome the perils that plague the continent of Pywel. Why has conflict fallen over the land? The King of Deminiss, Unifier of Lands, has fallen ill and lies in a coma. While many see the opportunity to cause chaos and strife, Macduff simply wants to reclaim his homeland. Despite the rising conflicts, his only goal is returning his people to where they once lived.
‘Living’ Locations in Crimson Desert
Each of the locations in Crimson Desert has its own unique characters. The characters you interact with seemingly bring to life the world around you. And many characters will use language that even monsters would shy away at.
The trailer for the game shows a fair amount of combat mechanics. From taking on large-scale bosses to fighting swarms of enemies. Players will be challenged wherever they go. Whether you fight a group of humanoid enemies, or you fight giant monsters, you’ll have your hands full. And if you manage to find a dragon, ride it away to safety as you dodge projectiles aimed at you from the ground.
