One of the most beloved and classic games series of all time is Crash Bandicoot. Back in the PS One days, we got the original trilogy that was one of the best platformers for Sony’s console. There were even more spin-offs and games like a racing one and even a Mario Party-like one. Then, after some years without a new game, we got Crash Bandicoot 4, and it was a hit. Now, we got some news during tonight’s Game Awards. With a fun announcement, we got to see Crash Team Rumble. This is the next game of the franchise, and it is a bit different from what we’re used to.

Crash Team Rumble is a 4v4 Multiplayer Game that will arrive in 2023

This time, players won’t be doing any platforming. Instead, we will face 4 players as iconic characters of the series. In the trailer, we had the chance to see some iconic heroes and villains returning for some multiplayer fun in Crash Team Rumble. It seems that the game will have some mechanics similar to Pokémon Unite. One team has to collect Wumpa Fruit and take it to their own zone to score points. At the same time, other players will have to prevent the other team from scoring.

New Super Mario Bros. Clip Revealed at The Game Awards

Other great news about the Crash Team Rumble announcement is that it’ll be cross-platform. With many games launching with multiplayer aspects, it is nice to see there’s crossplay already in this one. While playing, players will get to try different characters, each one with unique skills. So far, we saw heroes like Crash and Coco and villains like Neo and Dingodile. This is great for those who feel nostalgic about Sony’s former marsupial. And it is also nice to see the developers experimenting with a new Crash Bandicoot formula. Developed by Toys for Bob, the game doesn’t have a set release yet, but it is expected to arrive in 2023.
