As many fans already know after a string of cancellations was discussed heavily on the internet, James Gunn is officially running the show at DC, and after a hint, there are rumors about his Guardians stars coming to join DC. This wouldn’t necessarily be a shock to anyone, considering it would be a great role for the actors, but also they seem to have a great work bond with James Gunn after his run on the MCU. Recently, Gunn said to Empire: “I cannot tell you how close I am to Chris Pratt and Pom and Dave, and Zoe, and Karen…but I also know I will work again with all those people individually again.”

Could the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Actors Cross From MCU to DC?

James Gunn and Peter Safran are both working hard to give the DC Universe a clean slate basically and bring in less-known DC heroes. Some other sources have mentioned how they could see Dave Bautista taking on the role of Lobo, however, it is also rumored that the role will be going to Jason Momoa. Nothing is really for sure right now after so many changes that feel so sudden.

Some of the Guardians of the Galaxy actors have already expressed how they are getting tired of playing their MCU roles, like Dave Bautista who earlier this year said he wouldn’t be playing Drax after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, also said he didn’t want to be remembered only by this role. Zoe Saldana has also expressed some of her own frustrations about working with Marvel for so many years. As many Marvel fans already know, James Gunn said that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the last movie where we see the whole Guardians team together.

This definitely doesn’t mean the actors will immediately commit to another superhero role in DC right after Guardians of the Galaxy is over, especially because Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord or other Guardians characters could return for a movie like Avengers: Secret Wars. This movie is supposed to bring together both past and present heroes as well as their different timeline versions, which could give a lot of room for Tony Stark, or other heroes to come back. Maybe we will even see Andrew and Tobey’s Spider-Man characters as well.

As of right now, nothing is official, but either way, our beloved actors would be in great hands with James Gunn at DC. Until then, we can watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. May 5th.
