Santa Monica, the studio behind the God of War franchise, has announced that the PlayStation 4 hit God of War is getting a sequel called God of War: Ragnorok. The director of the PS4 title Cory Barlog is the developer’s head troll, and I say this in the best possible sense. As without many people realizing it, he had leaked that the God of War sequel Ragnorok was coming years ago.
However, people are already speculating that Cory is not directing Ragnarok; instead, he’s directing a new deep space game.
At the start of the year, Cory posted this tweet, saying:
Is this the first hint that Eric Williams has taken over from Cory to direct the God of War sequel? It could be a harmless casual tweet, but when it comes to Cory, he’s always up to something.
Oh, there’s more; if you go to Cory’s Twitter page, you’ll notice that he’s changed his profile header to something that looks like the interior of a space ship, and his location is now “Deep Space.” Is this Cory’s second hint that he’s directing a new deep space project?
It really is hard to tell with Cory that whatever comes out of his mouth is real or fake as he’s so well-known as being a troll. If it is real, does this mean he doesn’t have anything to do with God of War now? Or does he occasionally participate in helping out Eric with Ragnorok?
He’s probably already told us everything we need to know, but no-one has found it out yet, as Cory’s best weapon is putting information in plain sight without anyone realizing it. Though with God of War: Ragnorok coming to the PlayStation 5 in 2021, no doubt we’ll hear more about Cory’s mysterious deep space game.
