Manticore Games has announced its video game creation platform Core is now available free to download exclusively from the Epic Games Store. Core recently completed its year-long closed Alpha phase of testing and moved into its Early Access phase and full public admittance.

The Core Early Access special launch event happened on April 15 with the live-streamed Core Games Showcase. During the event, distinguished video game host Geoff Keighley featured several of the platform’s top games and creators, as well as special guest appearances by benjyfishy, H2O Delirious, JustaMinx, FemSteph, and others. If you missed the live stream, you can watch the VOD over on The Game Award’s Twitch channel, and on the Core Games’ YouTube channel.

The Core Games Official Early Access Cinematic Trailer (embedded below) also debuted as part of the celebration. In addition, and for a limited time, Manticore Games is offering you exclusive Core Games heroes and mounts when you create a new Core Games account or link your existing account to the Epic Games Store.

According to the press release, Core Games “welcomed more than one million players and creators to the platform” during its year-long Alpha test phase. During that time, the video game creation platform also “introduced a level of disruption to game creation and play that’s similar to how YouTube revolutionized video.” Check the following list for links to a few of the amazing games on the platform, and see for yourself what’s possible.

  • Corehaven Chronicles
  • Infinity Arena
  • Jelly Brawl
  • Mage’s Gambit
  • Nexus Wars
  • Paradise Role Play
  • Sir Pepe and the Goblins
  • Tumbleweed Typo Hunters

Jordan Maynard, Chief Creative Officer and co-founder at Manticore Games, had this to say:

Manticore says Early Access is just the start for the Core platform, with tons of new features currently planned and in the works. These plans include virtual events, persistent player housing, an assets marketplace, a physics-based vehicle system, and many other video game creation, publishing, and monetizing tools.

To experience the multiverse of games for yourself, click over to the Epic Games Store to freely download Core. If you want more info, visit the official website, and see what the Core community has to say on its Facebook, Twitter, and Core Creator/Core Player Discord channels.
