Marvel currently has two Captain America sagas in full swing, and both are on a collision course for Cold War. Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson are both journeying through the Marvel Universe, uncovering the secrets of Captain America’s legacy. This includes taking on new enemies, teaming up with old allies, and some shocking revelations. Both Captain’s will team up in next year’s Cold War!

What is Happening In Cold War?

According to Marvel, Cold War aims to bring Steve and Sam’s current solo adventures together. This epic will leave a lasting impression on not only the reader but the legacy of Captain America. While the details of this epic team-up are being kept under wraps for now, the groundwork is already being laid.

That groundwork can be found in the pages of Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty and Captain America: Symbol of Truth. The former sees Steve Rogers delving into the mythos behind the shield. Meanwhile. Sam Wilson is discovering what it means to be Captain American in today’s day and age.

About that Groundwork…

The December issues of Sentinel of Liberty and Symbol of Truth are the precursors to Cold War. In Sentinel of Liberty #7 from Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Carmen Carnero begins a new story arc. As Steve Rogers is about to give up on his hunt of the Outer Circle, a new lead helps him pick up the trail. Plus, Sharon Carter returns to show that Steve is never working alone. She helps him assemble some new allies, including Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Peggy Carter.

Meanwhile, Symbol of Truth #8 comes from Tochi Onyebuchi and guest artist Ig Guara. It continues Sam Wilson’s mission in Wakanda and some unexpected consequences for the Captain from his war with the White Wolf. Plus, Wilson’s old sparring partner, Nightshade, has popped up in Mohannda for mysterious reasons.

All of these threads will converge in Cold War next year for Captain America!
