For real this time?
After nearly two years of waiting, Bandai Namco has finally settled on a release date for Code Vein — Sept. 27.
Amusingly enough, this is the second time it’s received a September release.
Code Vein was initially revealed back in 2017 where it quickly gained attention due to its Dark Souls-inspired gameplay and anime aesthetic, with many going so far as to refer to it as “Anime Dark Souls.”
Bandai Namco, likely recognizing that it was on to something, provided consistent updates about the anticipated action RPG, providing information about everything one would want to know about the game save for the release date. And though that day did eventually come, it announced a month later that Code Vein would instead be delayed into 2019.
Nearly a year has passed since then. Silence. Some even thought Code Vein was cancelled.
Or rather, that was the case until a recent Surprise Network Test led many to believe a release date announcement was on the horizon, and it looks like those suspicions were correct if this development is anything to go by.
Of course, this is what we were led to believe last year, so it wouldn’t be surprising if some are a bit skeptical.
Code Vein is (allegedly) due out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 27; hopefully there’s not another surprise announcement a month from now.
