The news of American Idol’s CJ Harris’ death left the show’s fans, crew, and judges astounded. He was already on his way to fulfilling his lifelong dream. American Idol’s CJ Harris became a household name after competing on season 13 of the show. He tugged at hearts with his rendition of the Allman Brothers’ Soul Shine.
He proved himself worthy of the praises from judges and fans with more stunning performances of John Mayer’s Waiting on the World to Change, Tom Petty’s Free Fallin’, and Darius Rucker’s Radio. Eventually, Harris came sixth in the competition, and almost five years later, he released his debut single, In Love.
Going to the show prepared him to take on more than he anticipated. Harris confessed that his music experience was from singing in a church choir. The former singer came to American Idol with zero experience, but after mounting on the world stage, he learned to be calm, which helped in producing the best tunes for him.
Sadly, on Monday, American Idol’s CJ Harris’ death was confirmed at age 31. TMZ reported that he suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. But he did not make it.
