Cities: Skylines launched back in March and has since garnered a following. Earlier today Paradox Interactive announced that the title has surpassed one-million sold.
Popular city-builder, Cities: Skylines has managed to surpass one-million since launching back in March. Not bad for a simple yet intuitive simulator. When it released Cities: Skylines managed to sell 250,000 in the first day, so this is not the first accomplishment it was able to pin to its chest. Since release, over 33,000 mods have been created and released for Cities: Skylines via Steam Workshop. This is quite a bit and they are all pretty interesting, ranging from a recreation of cities from other notable games such as the Grand Theft Auto series, or even simple videos created with these mods such as a re-creation of the Grand Theft Auto V reveal trailer.
Cities: Skylines still manages to have over 21,000 concurrent players building a month after release. We thought the game was pretty swell back in our review, where we gave it a 4.5/5 stating, “Cities: Skylines is how city-building games ought to be. It’s fun, it’s pretty, it’s easily approachable, yet, difficult to master. ” We understnad why fans are enjoying it and why it is selling so well.
