Man Men star Christina Hendricks has been cast in the Apple TV+ adaption of The Buccaneers by Edith Wharton. The series based on the novel was created by Katherine Jakeways (The Armstrong and Miller Show), who will write with director Susanna White (Generation Kill).

The series is described to focus on “girls with money, men with power, new money, and old secrets.” It will follow a group of American girls exploring London in the 1870s. It will explore the cultural shift as people turn away from old traditions for a new way of living. Christina Hendricks in the Apple TV+ series will play Mrs. St. George, the mother to Nan, played by Kristine Froseth (The First Lady), and Jinny, played by Imogen Waterhouse (Nocturnal Animals). Mrs. St. George went from dreaming big to finding wealth with her husband. She wants the best for her daughters while discovering that marriage is not the key to happiness for them or even her.

The leading women with Christina Hendricks in the Apple TV+ drama will also star with Adam James (Vigil), Josie Totah (Saved By the Bell), Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why), and Aubri Ibrag (Dive Club).

Jakeways, White, Beth Willis, and George Faber will executive produce. The untitled Christina Hendricks Apple TV+ series is currently in production in Scotland. It is produced for Apple TV+ by The Forge Entertainment.

The leading actress is known for her six-time Emmy nominated role as Joan Harris in Mad Men. Other notable roles include Bad Santa 2, Toy Story 4, Zoolander 2, and Good Girls. She recently starred in the animated Hulu series Solar Opposites from Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. She will also star in The Storied Life of A.J. Finkry, based on the best-selling novel by Gabrielle Zevin.
