Video games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band changed how people interacted with games. They were some of the first popular musical based games to hit consoles. However, there soon may be a new music-related game on the way from Dragon Age writer David Gaider. The author of the series of games by BioWare is teaming up with voice actor and director Troy Baker to create Chorus: A Musical Adventure, the first interactive musical game of its kind.
Gaider’s new studio, Summerfall Studios, launched a crowdfunding campaign for Chorus complete with an impressive trailer featuring the vocal talents of Critical Role’s Laura Bailey. The game follows the story of Grace after she witnesses the death of a Muse on her doorstep and gives her the power of song. The game pulls heavily from Greek mythology and Grace will have to battle the relatives of the Muse calling themselves the Chorus.
In an extended trailer with Gaider and game developer Liam Esler, the two say Chorus will present the player with dialogue choices and two romantic love interests for Grace to pursue.
We are so excited to announce Summerfall Studios’ first game, CHORUS: AN ADVENTURE MUSICAL, in collaboration with Austin Wintory (@awintory) and Troy Baker (@TroyBakerVA)… starring Laura Bailey (@LauraBaileyVO)!

A portion of the trailer included a battle between Grace and the maze loving Minotaur. After the beast sings his portion the player will be given three options to choose from as a response. These are called traits and can be either Kickass, Clever, or Charming.
So far, however, the team is only focused on releasing Chorus on PC if the crowdfunding is successful. Yet they are not opposed to bringing it to iOS, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and more consoles in the future.
