A new military information leak is taking place on the War Thunder game forum. Previously, information about tanks belonging to the British army was deciphered; now, a similar story is happening for Chinese military documents. Allegedly, a War Thunder player shared secret military documents on the forum.
Details of the anti-tank weapon used by the Chinese military appeared on the War Thunder forum. A statement by defense industry researchers is the first time documents on anti-tank weapons have been seen apart from Chinese sources.
It was stated that the documents that appeared on the War Thunder forum belonged to an anti-tank projectile called DTC10-125. Its known capabilities to date have included punch through metal and breaching the internal compartments of a tank and disabling it.
What Were Leaked Chinese Military Documents?
The relevant information (official documentation and photos of the DTC10-125, an anti-tank ammunition used by the Chinese army to pierce enemy tank armor) was quickly deleted, and the user was banned from the War Thunder forums.
According to the report on Polygon, the photo showing the DTC10-125 revealed the technical schematic of the ammunition and its bullet, called sabot. The information has now been removed from the forum and the internet, but it is still thought to spread on social media shortly.
Although the technical specifications of the DTC10-125 have been revealed before, this leak on the game forum has been stated to belong to official government documents.
And this is not the first time that the War Thunder forums have been the setting for the dissemination of confidential military data. Kotaku reminds us that in July last year, the manual for the British Challenger 2 battle tank was already published, and three months later, it was that of the French Leclerc tank which followed.
As a result, we think player resources are limitless!
