The publisher of the first-person horror mystery game Charon’s Staircase has announced today that the game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and are hoping for an October launch date. SOEDESCO, along with developer Indigo Studios, broke the news and released a trailer which you can watch below.
Charon’s Staircase will allow players to focus more on the exploration aspects but will also include a dark and eerie narrative that will make you sweat. This first-person horror game also features ominous environments, chilling music similar to what you would find in those classic horror films, and a narrative that is fully voiced and only aids the atmosphere that shrouds this game.
What is The Story in Charon’s Staircase?
There will be a lot of you wondering what Charon’s Staircase is all about. Well, read on, and you will find out. In the 1970s, a totalitarian regime is known as “The Ministry” ruled with a deadly iron fist. The people in charge committed countless inhumane and sinister acts during this vicious reign. However, these infamous days are now over because they have their sights set on joining the European Union – who’d have thought that?
In this first-person horror game, you will play as an agent with the codename of… Desmond. Yes, that’s right, Desmond – of all the names. The Ministry has sent you to retrieve and destroy some classified documents from the Oack Grove estate. These documents are important because they reveal the unthinkable activities that plagued the nation’s past.
Some of the key features of Charon’s Staircase are:
– Uncover the secrets about Project Alpha and discover what The Ministry has been hiding for years – Survive a hellish nightmare and escape the horrors of Oack Grove – Solve the mysteries and puzzles that you encounter during your mission – Explore a dark and stunning atmosphere inspired by the 70s Central European era
There is no specific release date for Charon’s Staircase, but it is expected to be sometime in October, and it will be sold digitally and physically.
