A lot of movies are garnering interest in revivals recently. With the age of nostalgia at its strongest, people love to see remakes. Hence why something like The Karate Kid has a whole ongoing spin-off series in Cobra Kai. Just last week, Ron Perlman started campaigning for the third installment of his Hellboy franchise. And now, it seems Channing Tatum has come forward about another comic-centric hero. He wants to bring back the Ragin’ Cajun, X-Men‘s Gambit. It’s been a while since the project was shelved. And even longer since it was initially started. But Channing Tatum still holds out hope that an MCU Gambit revival may be in the cards.

Why Did LeBeau’s Stacked Hand Originally Fold?

The Gambit movie was something that just couldn’t get things right. After the success of Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Fox decided to go for a spin-off. They even ended up choosing Channing Tatum as the titular Gambit character. However, the movie faced many delays. One of the past directors, Gore Verbinski, shed some light on the issues recently. He mentioned that a lack of good funding and a solid script kept creating tension and delays they couldn’t recover from. It was finally shelved indefinitely when Disney took over in 2020.

Tatum Has Mixed Feelings About It All Now

Channing Tatum may be hoping for that MCU Gambit revival, but he has a tough time with Marvel itself. Ever since his favorite hero’s Disney acquisition and subsequent shelving, he doesn’t see them the same. He’s gone on record that he can’t stand to see Marvel movies anymore because he feels robbed. That said, he knows Marvel is the one avenue that could do it. Rumors are currently swirling that Mutants may be making their first appearance in Phase 4 of the MCU, specifically in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. We’ll have to wait until release to see, though. Maybe Phase 5, expected to start after 2023, will bring Remmy LeBeau back to Tatum.
