Celeste may be one of the best Indie video games to exist and the soundtrack is equally as satisfying and stellar. Though you can already download the game’s many songs online, you can now bring home a cassette pulled straight from Mount Celeste.
Independent composer, producer, and knows how to make a fantastic video game soundtrack, Lena Raine is behind the music for 2018’s Celeste. She worked with Ship to Shore to create the cassette, including the original soundtrack for the game.
Anyone who’s played the game knows the significance of the tapes.
Hidden throughout the levels of the game are many cassette tapes. Finding them unlocks new more difficult versions of the level and B-Side remixed versions of the games spectacular songs.
The music is a mix of beautiful piano melodies and haunting synthesizers.
Like with the cassettes found by Madeline within the world, the actual ones include both a regular cassette and a B-Side one including all the songs heard in Celeste. Altogether that’s 28 tracks and more than two hours of music to please your ears.
Along with the cassettes are vinyl albums. The only thing remaining is physical CDs, but Raine says she is aware of the desire from fans.
Other composers featured on the B-Side are Chordslayer, FTL, Welcome to the Fantasy Zone, Healing, Read-Only Memories, Nuclear Throne, Singularity, and Opus Magnum.

Published and developed by Matt Makes Games, Celeste follows the story of Madeline as she makes the perilous climb to the peak of Mount Celeste. Celeste is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
