With this week’s confirmation that Destiny 2’s second expansion, “Warmind,” will release on May 8, players are once again excited about the prospects of new Exotic weapons and armor.
For now, though, we will have to deal with Xur’s current inventory of weapons from the game’s launch and the Curse of Osiris DLC. Xur is reliable if nothing else.
Where is Xur?
Xur is on Nessus in his usual spot on top of the branch of a massive tree in the Watcher’s Grave section in the northern part of the map.
This week’s weapon is Riskrunner, an Arc-damage submachine gun. This weapon is insanely strong when Arc damage is buffed, because the weapon becomes more powerful when taking incoming Arc damage and it helps you resist it. Kills with the weapon extend the effect and it will basically continuously fire so long as you continue to take Arc damage. It costs 29 Legendary Shards.
For Titans, Xur has Doom Fang Pauldron. These gauntlets have a perk called “Horns of Doom” that allows your Shield Bash melee kills to recharge your Shield Throw ability, while making melee ability kills recharge your Sentinel Shield Super. They’re on sale for 23 Legendary Shards.
This weekend, Warlocks get Wings of Sacred Dawn. It’s a chest piece that works with the Dawnblade Super, allowing you to suspend in mid-air when you aim your weapons. Precision shots while floating extend the effect’s duration. It costs 23 Legendary Shards.
Xur has brought the new Gemini Jester boots from Curse of Osiris for Hunters. Their “Misdirection” perk will disorient nearby enemies and temporarily remove their radars when you dodge near them, making it fun to use in PvP. They are on sale for 23 Legendary Shards.
