CD Projekt Red will be showing off what the company has in store for the future of Cyberpunk, which could mean new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. Not only that, but the upcoming Night City stream will also provide new information relating to the Cyberpunk 2077-related animated series, Edgerunners.
The company says that the live stream will show “what’s next” for Cyberpunk 2077 in the live stream. This could mean that the game could be getting more story DLC that might be related to the anime. The Night City stream will take place from 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on September 6.
Cyberpunk 2077 is known for its troubled launch back in 2020. Being possible the most hyped game in gaming history, Cyberpunk launched with a plethora of bugs and glitches, with some versions of the game being entirely unplayable. The game got numerous patches to fix the aforementioned issues.
CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 New DLC
Some details relating to the new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC have leaked online. The expansion will put players in the Combat Zone and a Sports Dome, two areas that are not accessible in Night City. And Johnny Silverhand, the character voiced by the “breathtaking” Keanu Reeves, will have a role in it as well. The video in the announcement tweet shows V wearing a never-before-seen jacket. Interestingly, the jacket is from the upcoming Edgerunners anime.
The Cyberpunk-related Edgerunners animated series will debut on Netflix on September 13. The show’s synopsis reads “In a dystopia riddled with corruption and cybernetic implants, a talented but reckless street kid strives to become an Edgerunner: a mercenary outlaw”.
The anime producer, Studio Trigger, is best known for Kill La Kill, Little Witch Academia, among other series, will be animating the show while the soundtrack will be composed by Akira Yamaoka who has previously worked on Silent Hill.
Edgerunners was first announced back in 2020 as the show will tie into Cyberpunk 2077 but feature new characters and locations. The first two episodes can be watched on September 4 but only in PAX West in Seattle.
