The Behemoth has finally announced that they are bringing their very popular beat ‘em, Castle Crashers, on the Nintendo Switch and PS4.

Originally released on the Xbox 360 back in 2008, Castle Crashers is a side-scrolling beat ‘em game akin to old school arcade games. The game is multiplier, and stars four knights that go across the globe to stop a mad wizard.

The game will later be ported to the PlayStation 3 and PC. A remaster version will also be ported on the Xbox One.

On The Behemoth’s blog, they finally reveal that Castle Crashers Remastered will finally be coming to the Switch and PS4. The remaster version will run at 60fps rather than 30fps as seen on older versions of the game. All previous DLC, like new characters and weapons, will also be available in-game.

In the same blog, The Behemoth also talk about the possibility of a sequel, and teases a separate new game for the company. While the company is not against a sequel to Castle Crashers, the situation and timing need to be right.

They later hint at a brand new game. Titled Game 5 on the blog, this new game would be the fifth brand new game the company would make. They don’t go over any details of what it could be, as it is in very early development. They hope to reveal more information on the new game later in the year.

The Behemoth plans to have Castle Crashers Remastered on the Switch and PS4 to be playable during PAX East. The game is expected to be release this summer.
