Big things coming to Toad’s tiny world.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is getting some big changes and additions later today. Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, the game will be receiving a huge update along with some paid DLC. Not all of the content in the pack will be available right away, but you can buy it soon and get a sneak peek of the first level and possibly more.
The update is a pretty big one, adding two-player coop to every level contained in Captain Toad. The second player can now take on the role of Toadette, talking challenges right alongside the titular hero. New challenges will also be contained in the DLC, which adds a bunch of new levels as well. The trailer shown during the Direct presentation wasn’t the clearest announcement the Big N has ever put together, but fans of Captain Toad have a lot to be excited about today and when all the extra content hits on March 14th.
The paid DLC looks to contain five brand new worlds to explore, with a total of 18 new levels to play through. These should test any Captain Toad veteran’s abilities, expanding on the puzzle-heavy gameplay seen in the original levels. For those who’ve never bought Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on Switch, there will be a bundle available with the main game and DLC.
