In a tweet, Capcom announced that Pragmata is delayed until 2023. Pragmata was the newest IP of Capcom set in a dystopian near-future on Earth’s Moon.

“Our team is hard at work on the project, but to ensure this will be an unforgettable adventure, we’ve decided to shift the release window to 2023. In the meantime, we have a brand new artwork to share with you. Thank you for your patience,” said in the tweet along with a new teaser trailer.

Pragmata was initially set to be released in 2022 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 when it was announced at a PlayStation 5 reveal event. “Our development team is hard at work on this brand new game title, making full use of new next-gen tech, such as ray-tracing, to create a breathtaking and immersive sci-fi setting like never before,” Capcom said in the announcement of Pragmata. It is worth mentioning that Capcom’s Dev 1 is developing this new sci-fi dystopian setting.

Capcom is working on a new IP after 9 years. Although Megami Meguri was released in 2016, it was a Japan-only release which makes the Dragon’s Dogma the last new IP of Capcom, released back in 2012.

Along with a new teaser trailer, the Pragmata Twitter account released a new artwork as well.

Delaying the release of a video game is no hot news to the game industry as almost every AAA video game gets delayed. Many problems can cause a delay for a video game release but mostly it is because the project becomes so enormous that developers need more time for making a perfect game. Recently the Saints Row reboot also joined the list of delayed games.

Since we don’t know anything about Pragmata, it is hard to figure out why the game got delayed. It is also possible that Pragmata developers are re-imagining things for the project and this caused a delay. Whether it’s technical problems or re-imagining things for the project, Pragmata remains a mystery due to its delay until 2023.
