Canceled HBO Max Shows and pulled content is heading for FAST streaming services. The streaming platform has been pulling content in high numbers as of late. The recently canceled shows Westworld and The Nevers were announced to be leaving the platform earlier this week. Deadline is now reporting that several other shows are leaving the platform, including Raised By Wolves, Head of the Class and The Time Traveler’s Wife, FBoy Island, Legendary, and Finding Magic Mike. However, it appears that these shows aren’t going away forever, as Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly putting together a package of shows to license to third-party FAST channels.
Canceled HBO Max Shows and Content Being Licensed to FAST Streaming
This is good news for people who are sad to see these shows go. While Westworld’s popularity is on the decline, it still had a large fanbase that grieved that it was canceled without a conclusion. And while many of these other shows weren’t all that popular (many were canceled after one season), they still had a fanbase. Many would have loved to revisit these shows on HBO Max. Perhaps it will be through a new surge of popularity on FAST services that they will be revived.
HBO Max’s owner, Warner Bros. Discovery, recognizes the growing power of FAST services, which is why they are launching their own WBD-FAST, which is coming in 2023. Chances are we will see some of these HBO Max shows on that FAST service.
