Throughout Kratos and Atreus’ adventures in God of War Ragnarök, there is no end to the puzzles that they will encounter. One could argue that it’s very formulaic as nearly every room, zone, or area the two-and-a-half heroes encounters has another puzzle that requires slinging axes and Blades of Chaos to solve. While the concepts are largely the same, the execution of each puzzle is always a bit different. But fear not! Atreus and Mimir are there to give out helpful hints. But can you shut them up when they start being too helpful?

Can you stop Atreus and Mimir from giving hints in God of War Ragnarök?

It would appear that Atreus and Mimir are this generation’s Navi. Unless players know the answer beforehand or are wicked smart like a certain janitor from Cambridge, they can expect one of Kratos’ companions to chime in with a hint or two on how to solve the puzzle at hand. There isn’t an option available in the litany of game settings for Ragnarök to disable said hints.

It’s both a blessing and a curse. For players having a hard time with a puzzle, it can get the ball rolling. The biggest complaint from players is that the hints come too often and too early. The general consensus is that hints roll out within 30 seconds of staring at a puzzle. It might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s not too far off. So, prepare for pestering unless you’re willing to press the mute button.
