The visual design and graphical fidelity of Harvestella on PC are excellent, but many players are wondering if they can have the same experience on Steam Deck. Similar to Monster Hunter Rise, Harvestella is primarily oriented toward the handheld capability of the Nintendo Switch, meaning that it would be no surprise that the game could run well or even better on the Steam Deck’s hardware. As gorgeous as Harvestella‘s visuals are, they are less taxing than a title like Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Therefore, many fans would surmise that the game should run moderately well on their Valve-made console.

Playing Harvestella on Steam Deck

The answer to the question regarding whether Harvestella works on Steam Deck is yes; users can download and run the game with little issue on their handheld device. While players’ mileage will vary depending on their circumstances, the Steam Deck should overall be able to handle Square Enix’s latest farming sim.

How to Get Lumber in Harvestella

While official information about Harvestella being used for the Steam Deck has yet to be announced, there are plenty of reviews on Steam that indicate the Steam Deck version of the game works well. For instance, Steam user Keebz states in their review that the game performs well on Steam Deck and is able to reach 60 FPS easily. This feat is accessible even when they capped the TDP (Thermal Power Limit) to 7 watts. With these settings, the device will last approximately 3.5 hours, after which it will need to be charged again.

Another player by the name of MiuShuu has also repeated the same as Keebz, stating that Harvestella runs perfectly fine on their Steam Deck. The controls also have been fully implemented to ensure there are no issues when playing on the handheld console. Keep in mind that the Steam Deck is still a downgrade from those with powerful hardware for their gaming PC. Nevertheless, fans without a decent gaming tower or laptop will be able to enjoy the JRPG on their Steam Deck. It should be noted that the game’s controls are oriented more toward gamepad than the mouse and keyboard. Therefore, those who choose to still play the game on their PC instead of their Steam Deck are encouraged to use a controller.

Harvestella is available for PC and Nintendo Switch.
