Shiny hunting is one of many trainers’ favorite pastimes, especially in the latest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Shiny Pokémon are essentially color variations of standard Pokémon. With a lot of luck, you can capture these Pokémon in the wild. However, that isn’t the case with all Pokémon, as you can only find some as shiny via other means. Charmander is one of these Pokémon since you can’t find one in the wild, and the only Charizard you can find cannot be shiny.

However, just because you can’t acquire a shiny Charmander in the wild doesn’t mean you can’t have one. So, how can trainers get their shiny Charmander in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

How to get a shiny Charmander in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Trainers can get their very own shiny Charmander through breeding. You can’t encounter a shiny Charizard during raid battles, but you can breed them with a Ditto for a Charmander. We recommend you utilize a foreign Ditto to maximize your chances at a shiny Charmander. This method of breeding for shiny Pokémon is also known as the Masuda Method.

It’s important to note that if you happen to be using the 7-star Charizard, the Charmander that you would breed from it will not have the Tera type, the nature, or the mark that the Charizard does.
