LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has found a way to please all Star Wars fans. Since there is a lot of disagreement over which trilogy is good or bad among fans, the developers decided not to upset anyone.

The game’s senior producer James Burgon told Gamespot in January that they wanted to give players a choice of the trilogy they start with. At the beginning of the game, you can choose to start from whichever trilogy resonates most with you or move around. This does not mean you can skip ahead to the next movie, just that you can start from the original trilogy, prequels, or sequels.

Multiple generations started Star Wars at their own time, and the Skywalker story spans all nine films. Allowing this freedom lets players experience the game the way they saw the movies or their preferred order. This could have been an easy way to alienate fans, but now anyone who wants to explore Jakku (Episode 7) before Tantive IV (Episode 1) can do so.

Many veteran players will remember this was only a feature of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, the only LEGO game where you could pick what Trilogy you started with. The other LEGO games normally kept players in a singular saga.
