If you go to a Walmart in person and pre-order the Nintendo Switch you’ll be guaranteed a console on launch day, according to contact we had with the PR for the retailer.
They claim that pre-ordering the Nintendo Switch using this method will require that you put 10% of the purchase price down on the console, and that you’ll need to use the Pickup desk in-store.
These pre-orders are also available only while supplies last.
Sure, it’s not as convenient as sitting at the computer and waiting for a package to arrive at your doorstep, but it will guarantee that you have a console on launch day.
We didn’t believe it either, but reconfirming this news with the PR company and then calling into our local Walmart and speaking with a representative at the Pickup desk this does indeed seem to be the case.
If you’re having trouble online, head on down to your local Walmart if you want a Nintendo Switch on Launch Day.
