The simple answer is yes! You can select the protagonist in Super Robot Wars 30. When you start a new game, you’ll be given a choice between the male and female protagonists, described as The Carefree Wanderer and The Lonesome Girl.
From there, you’ll be able to customize the characters. Their default names are Edge Santklaus and Az Santklaus, but you can change that. You can change first and last names and nicknames. You can also change their birthday (Apr.4 by default) and their blood type (O for the male and A for the female by default).
Most of these details don’t affect too much in the game but are nice as customization options.
Beyond that, being a Super Robot Wars game, you’ll be able to control all your favorite mechs, mobile suits, powered armors, and giant robots of all kinds. So even if you’re not a fan of the two protagonists, they don’t have to take center stage.
After all, the real star of Super Robot Wars 30 is the giant robots… the humans are just set dressings, really.
