In Total War: Warhammer 3, the Daemon Prince Faction allows you to completely customize your Faction Leader, the Daemon Prince. This is done within the campaign by earning Glory and upgrading your Daemon Prince. But can you use this customizable monster in multiplayer?
The answer, for the most part, is yes. Custom Daemon Princes are usable in multiplayer co-op campaigns, where they can be slowly customized as you play the campaign together.
But beyond this, you can use your custom Daemon Prince in custom battles online. This means you can take your customized Daemon Prince from the campaign and pit them against friends or strangers to see which is the strongest force of Chaos once and for all.
However, there is one restriction for using custom Daemon Princes online. You cannot use your custom Daemon Prince in Multiplayer Ranked Battles. This is because of the balance issues around Daemonic customization and the fact that there’s literally hundreds of different options. Allowing custom Daemon Princes into ranked would be a balancing nightmare.
But given that a lot of the multiplayer fun in Total War: Warhammer 3 comes from cooperative play, the absence of custom Daemon Princes in Ranked play shouldn’t be too much of an issue for most players.
