Call of Duty: Warzone has crossed 100 million players since its March 2020 debut. And to celebrate the occasion together with the release of Season Three for both COD: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, all battle royale players were transported into the ’80s through the new Rebirth Island map.
This massive Season Three update is the culmination of weeks of events inside Warzone where players first had to deal with a zombie outbreak in Verdansk. As the zombie hordes reached their tipping point, a nuclear blast suddenly decimated the area. In its aftermath, players were instead transported to Rebirth Island, where a series of mysterious clues and hidden messages ultimately revealed what really happened and returns everyone back to Verdansk — but in the year 1984. This new-yet-familiar battlefield features massive changes, including new and reimagined locations, new gameplay options, and new twists to every building and object on the map. See it in action in the gameplay trailer below.
In the official statement, Activision President Rob Kostich thanked all fans who participated in the event. The company also called together celebrities who are known as avid COD players including AJ Tracey, Dennis Schroder, Druski, Jack Grealish, Nadeshot, and Young Thug to celebrate the release of COD: Warzone Season Three in the Squad up the World music video directed by Gibson Hazard which you can watch just underneath the quote from Kostich.
