With every year comes a new Call of Duty game, and this year is no exception. The newest Call of Duty game is being developed by Sledgehammer Games and details have officially been announced. Here’s what we know about the Call of Duty: Vanguard release date, story, and more.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Story Details

According to the official Call of Duty website, Vanguard will show players how the first special forces were created, and there will be four characters to play as. These characters include Private Lucas Riggs, Sergeant Arthur Kingsley, Lieutenant Wade Jackson, and Lieutenant Polina Petrova.

The post on the Call of Duty website goes on to say that this will all take place during World War II. Call of Duty is no stranger to this era, with their Call of Duty: WWII game releasing just four years ago.

Multiplayer and Zombies Details

It wouldn’t be a Call of Duty game without mention of the multiplayer aspect and luckily we get some details on it. The website states that the game will arrive with 20 multiplayer maps. They also make mention of the “reactive environment” that the maps will have.

Continuing the Dark Aether storyline, zombies once again return to Call of Duty. Treyarch Studios is confirmed to be involved with the development of the Zombies mode. Treyarch was the studio responsible for the beginning of Zombies in Call of Duty. Their game Call of Duty: World at War, was the first Call of Duty game to feature Zombies.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Release Date

Call of Duty: Vanguard will release on November 5, 2021. Pre-orders are available now, with more information on the game coming in the following months.
