Giving a rundown of multiplayer and how to join in groups.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is the latest Call of Duty game in the franchise, taking players back to World War II. Of course, it’s already a big multiplayer hit. Because of that, people are going to want to get in a squad with friends and take their skills online via matchmaking. This guide will help those who want to pair up with friends.
How to play Call of Duty: Vanguard with friends
To play this game with friends, of course, you’ll have to have the game installed so you can land on the game hub. You’ll see Vanguard, Warzone, Black Ops: Cold War, and Modern Warfare. Press the corresponding at the top right of that menu, indicated with a list of friends and the social option.
Doing so will take you to another screen, listing out clans, friends, party, recent players, and the inbox. Head on over to the “friends” tab and add Activision Friends. However, if you are on the same console as your mates, make sure they are added and also have the game.
If your friends are on a different console, then use the Add Activision Friends option. There, you can search friends by their Activision Account, Console ID (PSN ID or Xbox Gamertag), their console name (if they are on a different home console than you), or PC name.
Adding an Activision ID will have a player’s name followed by a pound (#) symbol. If you added people from previous games like Warzone, Modern Warfare, or Black Ops: Cold War, they should be already added.
How to make and join a clan in Call of Duty: Vanguard
If you want to start a clan, you can simply follow the guides on the Clan tab in the Social menu. The game will then prompt you to name your clan and give yourself a unique clan tag consisting of five unique characters. Once that is done, you can then confirm it and access the clan’s emblem, privacy, search labels, and other things to get it all ready.
You can then start to invite people and make things look more legitimate once you complete the clan setup tasks. Inviting people is straightforward. You’ll be able to invite people straight from your friend list. They’ll be notified and can answer the invitations in their respective game’s inbox.
Note that you can get rid of your clan if you choose, but it’ll erase any significant progress and cannot be undone.
What are the benefits of being in a clan?
If you are in a clan, you can earn rewards like bonus weapon, Operator, and additional Clan XP. Everyone contributes XP towards the clan individually.
Will clans transfer between Call of Duty: Vanguard and other games?
Clans and all the social perks from Warzone and other games from Modern Warfare and onward will carry over just fine. Surprisingly, you do not have to start a new clan if you played a different game.
How do I know if cross-play is on?
Hit the options button or any corresponding button that brings up the settings menu when in the multiplayer menus. Head on over to the “Account & Network” tab where you can then make sure crossplay and crossplay communication are toggled based on your preferences.
However, if you want to play with people on other platforms, that will have to stay on. You will unfortunately have to take on players who play on mouse and keyboard.
Is Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies cross-play?
Yes! Call of Duty: Vanguard has cross-play beyond the multiplayer. Just like Warzone and onward, you can connect to your friends on different platforms to take on the cooperative mode.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is out now for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and PC via Battle.net. To check out more content for the game, click here.
